Why did John the Baptist declare, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" when he saw Jesus coming to see him at the Jordan river? Why did Matthew tell us about the tearing of the temple curtain from top to bottom at the time of Christ's crucifixion? Why is Jesus so often referred to as our "high priest" in the New Testament? The answer to these questions from the New Testament lie in an understanding of the pre-fab tent that God directed Moses to construct for the children of Israel in the desert. It goes by several names. We simply call it The Tabernacle. In this brief series Pastor Neal covers a wide range of issues relevant to the construction and purpose for the Tabernacle and how it is virtually impossible to fully understand much of the New Testament without a working understanding of this center of worship that was utilized by the nation of Israel for some 500 years. This short study is capped off by a visit to a life- size model/replica of the tabernacle visiting the Grand Rapids area set up on the campus of Cornerstone University.
