The Lord Jesus, Himself, sent a letter to seven, local, first century churches. Within that letter was a special message to each one of the seven churches. Why didn't the Lord send a separate letter to each church? Why did they get to read each other's mail? The answer is because this letter was never solely intended to be a private letter to any one of them. Every local church, then and now, should be able to read this letter and determine the Lord's evaluation of their church.
